The Pflugerville High School softball team (20-9 overall) struggled in the field and lost Game 1 of its area round match up with Humble Kingwood (28-3 overall) 7-0 – all runs unearned — and couldn’t hold a 2-0 lead in Game 2 as the Panthers were swept following a 9-3 loss in Mumford.

Pflugerville committed four errors in Game 1 and missed opportunities to end innings in the fourth and third because of wide throws and dropped pop-ups. The Pflugerville starter Shelby Sells finished with six strike outs in the game.

The Panthers lost Game 2 after taking a 2-0 lead in the third inning, only for Kingwood to score five runs in the bottom of the same inning. Kingwood added four more runs in the sixth and seventh.
