Connally sophomore Caleb Justice ended a Montgomery (26-4) no-hitter in the one-game bi-district round playoff Friday in College Station and the Cougars (12-18-5 overall) scored two runs, but it was too late as the No.10-ranked Bears won 4-2 at A&M Consolidated High School.

Montgomery pitcher Collin Garrett mowed down batters with ease until Justice sent a liner up the middle in the sixth inning and the Cougars went on to load the bases. Connally senior Ben Green hit an RBI single to drive two runners in and cut the deficit to two runs.

Montgomery reliever Ty Boland, who gave up Green’s hit, settled down in the seventh for the save.
